Meet Dr Elisabeth Norton
I am a Principal Clinical Psychologist with over 16 years of NHS experience. My work is centred on supporting people through challenging times with care, compassion, and evidence-based approaches.
My background
Much of my career has focused on supporting parents, particularly in the perinatal period, helping them navigate the emotional challenges of pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.

I currently work in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), specialising in clinical health psychology. I am passionate about advocating for psychological support for families during the often difficult and uncertain time when a baby is in NICU.
Alongside my clinical role, I teach on a Clinical Psychology Doctorate programme and remain active in research. My published work includes studies on bereavement support in neonatal care, LGBTQ+ parents’ experiences, and the wellbeing of healthcare professionals and mothers of preterm babies.
